West Yorkshire Sport (WYSport) is the County Sports Partnership (CSP) for five districts of West Yorkshire; Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield. The West Yorkshire Sport Jobs and vacancies pages list a variety of jobs across the three major cities and towns including Dewsbury, Batley, Huddersfield and Halifax. We promote grassroots Yorkshire sport with news, events and activity calendars and deliver major projects for national partners like Sport England such as Sportivate activity and Sport Makers, promoting participation in sport and physical activity.
2012 is an exciting year for sport with athletes heading down to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games such as wheelchair racing star Calderdale's Hanna Cockroft who will carry the Olympic Torch through Leeds. This Olympic year also sees the launch of the School Games as part of Places People Play, the National Olympic legacy programme, and WYSport is looking forward to delivering the 2012 School Games and paragames to the county's schools through the School games Organiser SGO network. Safeguarding children in Sport is massively important, and we have attained the gold standard for our child protection. The west Yorkshire sports partnership is the wider network of education, health and leisure organisations tasked with making sport and physical activity part of our lives.
WYSport also is active in increasing volunteering and coaching, with the Volunteers in Sport project and Coaching WY, the one stop shop for advice and coach education course information. We maintain the biggest sports club database in West Yorkshire on behalf of our partners in the five County Sports networks (CSNs) and wysport.co.uk, formerly westyorkshiresport.co.uk is also the main resource for jobs, local sport news, funding contacts, club advice and fun activities across the county.
