STARS is the Supporting Talented Athletes Recognition Scheme.
The STARS scheme is the only one of its kind within the West Yorkshire area. In the sense that it supports all athletes from all backgrounds with varied future aims.
STARS is specifically designed for our regions talented athletes and future Olympians. It currently offers them free access to the county’s local authority maintained sports facilities that are enrolled on the scheme.
At the moment there are 98 UK top 20, or Great Britain squad athletes living, studying or training within West Yorkshire.
All of these athletes are of a national standard however none of them receive any funding from Sport England or Sport Aid.
