Managing Sports Programmes
Published on: 16th August 2011
West Yorkshire Sport has a record of successfully developing and implementing sports programmes, aimed at increasing the number of people playing sport, with and through local organisations. West Yorkshire Sport acts as a one stop shop for managing, administering and monitoring the county wide programmes. Examples of previous programmes include:
- The Community Sports Coaches programme – at one point employing over 70 full and part time coaches across West Yorkshire organising and delivering coaching programmes for over 100,000 young people across the county
- The Sport Unlimited programme – a £1.5m programmed aimed at providing a huge range of activity programmes for 8 to 15 year olds over a three year period. With over 52,000 young people West Yorkshire had the highest number of young people participating in England.
- Playground to Podium - a programme to identify talented disabled athletes.
