Louise graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2006 and a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2007.
Before joining West Yorkshire Sport in 2009, Louise’s previously roles included working as a Coach, Physiology lecturer and Sports Development Officer.
Louise’s role at West Yorkshire Sport is to develop basketball across the county. This includes partnership working with the local authorities, universities, schools, community organisations, clubs and many more in order to drive the sport forward. As a priority work area, Louise is tasked with preventing the drop-off in participation that occurs in young people aged 16-25, this means predominantly establishing recreation basketball competitions leagues and ‘come and play’ style across West Yorkshire. To support new activity and increase capacity Louise has a remit around increasing and developing coaches, officials and volunteers. In light of this a big part of Louise’s role is working with West Yorkshire’s local basketball clubs.
In addition Louise is responsible for establishing and developing the schools competition pathway and linked to this Louise is also heavily involved in developing grass routes junior competition.
Outside work Louise is a keen footballer and currently runs a local girls football team. Louise also enjoys art, regularly attending classes.
