CEO of West Yorkshire Sport
Building on his B.A. (Hons) Sport and Recreation degree, Nigel has 23 years experience of working within the sports industry initially relating to sports facility management before a move towards sports development.
Nigel was the first employee of West Yorkshire Sport in 2001 and since that time has led the development and management of the organisation and the Partnership.
He has extensive experience in drawing up strategic plans in sport making a major contribution to the sports strategies in each of West Yorkshire’s Districts.
Nigel is currently taking a national lead on behalf of the CSP network in its work with National Governing Bodies. He is an Executive member of the Federation of Disability Sport and a member of the Yorkshire Management Board for Netball. He is also a Senior Tutor for Sport England’s Running Sport programme.
He is currently studying for a Masters of Business Administration at Leeds Business School.
He has participated at club level in rugby league, football, tennis and badminton. He currently plays tennis and small sided football each week along with regular running and attending the gym. For over 20 years Nigel has coached and run a junior tennis club in his home town of Oldham.
