To celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012, Athletics club across the country are hosting Athletics Community Days between the 12th and 29th August 2012, to bring the Olympic legacy to life in their local community. Clubs are hosting all sorts of events involving athletics and running and also Olympic themed and social aspects such as BBQs, cakes, Olympic record demonstrations, quizzes and more. Many of these events are one off events and others are combinations of a community event with Quadkids competitions or other athletics schemes. Also being promoted as part of this campaign are the free holiday startrack schemes to give 8 to 15 year olds the chance to try athletics for free.

All the events can be found at www.englandathletics.org/communityday. Also part of this promotion is our new club finder and Run England Group finder. This page has all the opportunities for people to get involved with athletics in 2012!
