Take the plunge at Ilkley Aquathon

Entrants are being sought for the inaugural Ilkley Aquathon, which is being held to celebrate the Olympic Games.
People of all ages and abilities are being encouraged to sign up for a selection of swim and run events. These include a 250m swim and 2 . 4 mile trail run through Middleton Woods, with shorter distances being available for younger competitors.
The event will be held at Bradford Council’s Ilkley Pool on Saturday, 23 June between 8.30-11.30am. This is the day before the Olympic Torch comes to Ilkley.
Entry is strictly limited to the first 200 applicants and there is an entry fee of £5 for adults and £2.50 for school pupils. For further information and to apply, please visit www.tinyurl.com/ilkleyaquathon The deadline for submissions is Sunday, 10 June.
Prizes will be awarded to winners in each category, and all junior entrants will receive a medal.
The event is being organised by Ilkley Harriers AC and Ilkley Swimming Club, and is being funded by Ilkley Parish Council with support from Bradford Council.
Later in the day, people will be able to unwind at Live at the Lido. The annual music event, which raises money for the historic Lido, will include performances from a number of local acts along with a barbecue and refreshments.
The Friends Of Ilkley Lido-organised event will be held between 5.15-11pm.
Advance tickets are available from the Lido or through Friends of Ilkley Lido and cost £10 for adults (five for the price or four) or £6 for students. They will be available on the night for an extra pound.
