Guidance for Coaches Working in West Yorkshire Schools
For some time West Yorkshire Sport has promoted generic guidance on minimum standards of deployment for coaches, and supporting local quality assurance schemes to ensure coaches working in Leeds and Calderdale schools meet locally set standards. West Yorkshire Sport has now produced guidance for coaches working in schools across the in the county to bring all these standards together in one place. We have also produced a simple quick reference guide to coaching and leadership qualifications to help both for coaches and for organisations that deploy or employ coaches.

The Coaching chain: Reflections of disabled athletes and coaches
The Carnegie Research Institute at Leeds Metropolitan University are looking for disabled athletes to participate in their research project. Respondents must be 18 years and over and have some varying experiences of being coached either at school, mainstream or disability club and can be of any level – they don’t have to be High Performance athletes.
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults - new information on the scUK website
The sports coach UK Resource Bank now contains information to support the development of our sport’s partners Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policies. Very often this policy is absorbed into safeguarding children policy but this is recognised by the Sport & Recreation Alliance to be bad practice due to there being far fewer instances of the police being involved with adult abuse cases over child abuse cases.
