Quest Taekwondo Promotion Test

Published on: 22nd March 2012

Quest Taekwondo conducted its quarterly belt promotion test at its newly set up centre of sparring excellence at Beckfoot School, Bingley.

The test was conducted by Senior Instructor Rick Simpson 4th Dan, along with two other Taekwondo experts on the grading panel, in Kirsty Ryan 4th Dan and Laura Holness 4th Dan.

Their grading test involved patterns (pre defined movements of stances, kicks and hand strikes), self defence and full contact sparring. The students being tested ranged from 5 years old to 50 years old.  The students participating in the test were from Quest Taekwondo's clubs in Greengates, Idle, Thorpe Edge, Baildon, Cottingley, Bingley, Keighley and Silsden.

The test was followed by a 2 hour training seminar led by Rick Simpson that involved kicking drills, timing drills and full contact sparring.

The seminar was also attended by visitors training from clubs in Manchester, Barnsley and Doncaster.

Quest Taekwondo's next grading test is scheduled for May 2012, where further beginners and intermediate students will be put to the test.
