Charity Zumbathon at Headingley - 12 Nov 2011

Published on: 7th November 2011

Fancy taking part in an exhilarating yet fun workout, whilst helping raise money for charity?  Then join Yorkshire’s own national heart charity, Heart Research UK, for their first ever Zumbathon on Saturday 12 November 2011 from 9.00 to 12.00 noon. Zumba, is a Latin-inspired, high energy workout designed to get you shakin’ and movin’ to the music whilst burning those calories.

During the three-hour Zumbathon at St Chad's Parish Church in Headingley, you and your friends will be taught the hottest Zumba moves by two registered professional instructors and tickets cost just £10. All proceeds will be used to help fund pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.

No experience is necessary to take part in this fun and family-friendly event which is open to anyone and everyone, from 12 to 112. There will be regular breaks with refreshments and a free crèche service which is available on request when you book your place.

Barbara Harpham, National Director of Heart Research UK, says: “It doesn’t matter if you are a first timer or a regular Zumba-goer, we want everyone to experience the latest craze in dance and fitness. Get your family and friends to come along for an exciting workout, you’re bound to leave on high, knowing you’ve enjoyed a heart-healthy work out at the same time as raising money for charity.”
