Early opening hours trialled at Richard Dunn Sports Centre

Published on: 3rd October 2011

Bradford Council is making it easier than ever to keep fit at Richard Dunn Sports Centre.

In order to accommodate local residents’ hectic schedules and to make it easier for them to take regular exercise, the venue’s Clubactive gym is introducing new early opening times for a trial period only.

From October 3rd until 11th November the premier gym will open from 6.30am-10pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The trial will be used to evaluate the viability of the gym permanently opening for longer hours on selected days each week.

Coun Ghazanfer Khaliq, Bradford Council’s Executive Member responsible for Sport, said: “This six week-long trial will assess whether there is sufficient demand for the Clubactive gym to open earlier on a permanent basis.

“It will make it easier for residents to access the Centre’s state-of-the-art equipment and reflects the Council’s b active campaign, which aims to increase the number of people in the district who take regular exercise.”

The Clubactive gym offers high-tech training equipment including pulse rowers, cycles and steppers, cross trainers, and Trixter bikes that simulate the experience of different outdoor conditions and gradients. Memberships start from just £24.00 with three months free terms and conditions apply.

For further details about the six-week trial, please ask at Richard Dunn Sport Centre’s reception or call 01274 307822.
