High Fives Netball Festival and Consultation Event - 3 Oct 2011

Published on: 8th September 2011

Every Primary School in the City of Leeds is invited to a a Schools High Fives Netball Festival!

Monday 3rd October 15:00-18:00 at the John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds Sport Development in conjunction with England Netball

The event aims to Show Case the High Fives Game, develop interest and encourage as many schools as possible to attend -rejuvenating the Leeds Schools High Fives Competition. There will be a High Fives Tournament for your school team/s to enter!
Leeds holds the West Yorkshire Youth Games High Fives Championship trophy with Froebelian School. Froebelian were runners up in 2010 and won the title in 2011. We hope to maintain this calibre of performance and encourage schools to participate in the game – with boys and girls.
The Show Case will also consult schools regarding the development of School Leagues in all areas of the City leading to the progression to the City Finals. Some areas already operate leagues, others don’t, and we hope to develop sufficient interest so that leagues will be operated across all schools. The consultation on the day will help determine the feasibility and interest. This proposed increased participation will offer children additional matches, significant opportunities to develop abilities and increase the chances of qualifying for the City Finals.

It is hoped the Festival will stimulate interest from the young players and school staff alike in preparation for the High Fives School competition. I look forward to meeting you on the day.
I extend an invitation to you and your school to enter the Festival and welcome your feedback on the leagues during the event
The John Charles Centre for Sport offers an ideal venue with ample car parking and is the largest sports complex Leeds City Council operates. In attendance will be England Netball to offer advice and support, Competition Managers, Leeds Sport Development Unit and Club representatives.
Please register your schools interest and participation using the enclosed Group Registration Form and return it to me. I will provide more information to you closer to the Festival date.
