Queensbury Celtic F.C. was formed in 1978 by ex-amateur footballer Arthur Peel and George Hunt - both local men. Arthur was approached by a teacher from the former Catherine Slack Junior School to coach and train their keen junior football players. After that first season they were joined by Brendan Lunn and together they formed Q.C.F.C.
At Queensbury Celtic there are now up to 300 boys and girls training or playing every week. The age range spans from Under 5's through to Under 17s. Training during the summer is carried out at the ground and moves indoors to Peel Hall during the winter months.
The teams play in the Keybury Alarms League, Garforth, Craven, Aire & Wharfe and the Huddersfield Leagues all of which are considered of good standard and extremely competitive.
Following on from the success of our Under 10s Girls team last year (who won the West Riding Girls Cup), we are looking to build another Girls team at Under 9s for this season.
We have a core of players but require more to be able to field a competitive team for next season.
We also have a core of Girls at Under 13s but require several more to ensure that we can compete this season.
We also require boys for our Unders 13s and Under 14s Huddersfield League teams.
