Saltaire festival - Fun Run in the Park – A Victorian-themed series of ‘foot races’ - 11 Sep 2011
Published on: 8th September 2011
Go Victorian this festival and bring the family for foot-racing and a picnic in the park!
Refurbished to its heyday, Roberts Park is the setting for a morning of Victorian-style racing – kicking off the Yorkshire Veterans Association Road Relay at 10.45am, followed by Titus Salt School Junior Challenges starting at 12.15pm.
A perfect family day out … once you’ve worked up an appetite you can pick up your picnic lunch from the Half Moon Café – order your picnics (order forms can be printed off from www.sportsshare.org/events; or picked up from the Half Moon Café) by 8 September and they’ll be waiting for you on the day!
Profits from picnic orders will be proudly donated to Sustrans for the development of local pathways. You can also browse market-stalls, listen to music, and watch the prize-giving! And there are spot prizes for the best dressed, so come sporting your best Victorian pantaloons or knickerbockers and be in to win!
