Keighley Table Tennis Centre 2nd anniversary - Open day and race night 15 Oct 2011
Published on: 7th October 2011
Keighley Table Tennis and Recreation Centre will enter its third year this October and is holding two events to celebrate.
The Open Day – free of charge and open to anyone who wishes to attend, whether they play table tennis or not - will run from 12noon – 3pm on 15th October 2011.
It promises to be very enjoyable, with a wide range of stalls and activities. Alongside table tennis exhibitions, and a ‘Beat the Robot’ competition (a table tennis robot is a machine that fires balls at you), there will be Strike Taekwondo (a Korean martial art and Olympic sport) an art group, food and drink and a tabletop sale.
The day will give families, sports people, table tennis players and schools a chance to see the centre and appreciate what’s available there.
Following the Open Day the same evening is ‘Race Night’.
8 jungle animals race around a wooden course, their progress decided by random selection on bingo balls. In the hurdle race, animals can fall and be knocked out of the race. The action never fails to entertain and excite both the spectators and those who have bet on the horses! Doors open at 7pm with the first race starting at 7:30pm. Tickets cost £5 and £3 for under 18’s, which includes a supper voucher. We are on the look out for any businesses who would like to sponsor a race.
Both events are being held at Keighley Table Tennis and Recreation Centre, 2nd Floor Keighley Business Centre, South Street, BD21 1SY.
