Using Athletics to Deliver a Legacy for School Sport - Conference 18 May 2012

Published on: 6th February 2012

In Spring 2012, as we enter perhaps the most exciting period in the history of our sport, England Athletics are organising a nationwide series of athletics conferences for the school sport fraternity.

These interactive conferences will provide delegates with a range of practical information on delivering athletics for schools – both within the curriculum and out of hours – and show how athleticism can enrich whole school physical education experience and boost the participation of young people in sport generally.

Workshops will combine both practical and theoretical approaches, led by experts in the fields of athletics coaching, leadership and education.

A number of skills, awards and competition resources which schools can use to enhance the sporting experience of young people will be introduced to delegates.

The workshops will be ideal for primary and secondary teachers and School Games organisers, and for sports development staff in Local Authorities, SSPs and clubs.
