Dragons sign lightning quick Edmunds

Published on: 8th September 2011

Bradford Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of explosive American point guard Bobby Edmunds.  Edmunds joins the Dragons after an impactful rookie season with Hemel Storm where he helped them to secure the Patrons Cup.

Edmunds graduated from Widener University in 2010 where he was voted onto the conference All Star team three seasons in a row.  The 5’11” point guard caused chaos around EBL Division 2 last season with his lightning pace and his extraordinary passing ability.

Bradford Dragons Head Coach Chris Mellor is excited about Edmunds signing, “We followed Bobby closely in the off season and I am delighted that we can bring him on board. Bobby brings us a very different look at the guard position.  He approaches the game with raw pace and plays very tough defense, which matches our team’s number one goal”

Dragons are close to finalising their squad and will be announcing more signings over the coming days.  Just in time for their first game of the season against Burnley Blaze on the 18th September, tip off is 4:15pm at Bradford College on Trinity Road.  The game is expected to sell out so arrive early to get the best seats in the house.  For more details on the Bradford Dragons go to www.bradforddragons.co.uk
