Published on: 24th January 2012
Huddersfield Heat have secured their first major local business partnership by agreeing to work with Casino Red. The Northumberland Street based casino will play host to all Heat fundraiser and evening events and provides a much needed boost to the club. The inaugural event to mark the start of this partnership will be a fundraiser in aid of the club this coming Saturday, 28th January, 7.30pm start. General Manager Eduardo Perez was delighted when announcing the deal:
“This partnership is a massive boost for the club, and we hope that Casino Red and the Heat will work together for a long time, and that our relationship will go from strength to strength. My sincere thanks go to Ashley Spencer, the Marketing Manager at Casino Red for all his hard work to make this happen. The actual details of the partnership will evolve over time, but we are very excited to have Casino Red on board. We are also going to announce a big kit deal next week, which is also fantanstic news, and it shows the club is becoming an attractive proposition as a potential partner for business.”
On the court, it has not been an easy month of January for the Heat’s senior mens. Three successive defeats to Loughborough (76-83), Warrington (71-104) and Manchester (68-112) have left the Heat struggling third from bottom in the EBL Division 3 table. The Heat are also having to content with venue problems at Rishworth which have led to the postponement of two more fixtures against Sheffield Sabres and Shropshire Warriors. On a bright note, the Heat’s senior womens secured a win in their latest National Founders Cup game, by defeating the Manchester Divas (61-27) to move second in the North pool of the competition.
The Heat men’s are next in action on February 18th should the venue issues be resolved, although there may be a potential change of venue to complete this year’s fixture calendar. The Heat women’s travel to Derby on Saturday for their latest pool gamein the Founders Cup.
