Mud, Sweat and Tears for Gary and Andy
Published on: 17th November 2011
In the build up to the Summer ToughGuy event in July 2011, Andy Dodman, Director of Human Resources at the University of Sheffield and Gary Butterfield, Director of G-Rex Fitness and Personal Trainer wanted to put their fitness skills to good use and do a few more challenges for charity.
Gary put it to Andy to pick out a charity that is close to him and he decided upon the Yorkshire Cancer Centre (YCC), a charity that both puts money towards research into cancer prevention and treatment as well as offering aid, services, and equipment to cancer sufferers in this fine county we call Yorkshire.
"Over September 2011 we had the privilege of welcoming three excellent volunteers to our team who are striving to help us with our fundraising, they’re also going to jump in the odd event with us! The team now consists of myself and Andy, Sue Dodman and Geoff Render, and our "Mud, Sweat & Tears" campaign was born."

We would love for you to donate to our justgiving page, whatever you can spare would be fantastic, every penny counts. Also, we are more than willing to get company names on our kit if a considerable donation is put towards our fundraising.
Thank you
Gary Butterfield, Andy Dodman and our fantastic team
Andy Dodman, 37, from Leeds is married to Sue with two kids. Andy is the Director of Human Resources for the University of Sheffield and when not at work or at home will almost certainly be at the gym, or outdoors enjoying trail running, hill scrambling, river wading and more recently participating in the "Mud, Sweat & Tears" charity challenges.
The physical events and challenges are a great contrast to the stresses and strains of a busy working life, whilst enabling us to support a great local charity, the Yorkshire Cancer Centre (YCC). Andy's wife is Matron for Oncology at St James's Hospital, the home of the YCC so it's familiar to both Andy and his friend and training partner, Gary Butterfield.
