Sported. announces the launch of its Small Grants programme

Published on: 3rd August 2011

sported. has recently launched a brand new funding stream aimed to provide increased support to our Members in active areas of Yorkshire.

sported. Was launched in Yorkshire early in 2011 and has now been active in the sport for development sector since 2009, we will be nationwide in the UK by 2012. sported. are committed to continuously developing our services according to the needs of our membership and are therefore launching this new grant scheme to support organisations that have successfully applied for membership.

sported. supports organisations that are delivering community sports and physical activity programmes targeting young people (aged 11-25) within disadvantaged communities.

Membership is free and open to voluntary and community organisations that demonstrate that they use sport or physical activity for the development of younger people aged 11-25. Organisations that use sport for participation only are ineligible for membership.

Due to the level of demand that Sported. has experienced for its services and the need to manage the maximum level of support to our members we have had to phase our activity into the Yorkshire region.  We are currently live in Leeds, Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham.  We shall be opening for membership in all areas of South and West Yorkshire from September, therefore registrations of interest for membership are now being accepted.

As a Member of sported. who is not benefitting from sported.’s one-to-one Mentor support organisations may be eligible to apply to this new fund, which allows Member organisations to apply for grants up to the value of £2000. The Small Grants programme aims to build on the existing business support and access to business resources offered by sported. to its Member organisations.

Applications for Small Grant funding will only be accepted from sported. Members who meet the following eligibility criteria

Please note that Small Grants funding will be available on a rolling programme and the grant assessment panel will meet on a quarterly basis. sported. therefore advise organisations who are considering applying for a Small Grant to make the application at a time of year most appropriate to your planned project/activity.

The grant assessment deadlines are as follows
