Successful season for Huddersfield Giants Netball Juniors

Published on: 4th January 2012

Players in the junior Giants netball teams have achieved success in the Championship League in the first half of the netball season this Winter.

The Under 16 first team were runners up in Division 1 and will now go on to represent West Yorkshire in the regional league in January. The Under 16s second team were runaway winners of Division 2, winning five out of five matches. The Under 14s team played well to be runners up in Division 2.

The youngest team, the Hi 5s, made of players under 11, will start their first competitive season at the beginning of January. Places are still available to join the Hi 5s squad for both girls and boys under 11. The squad trains at Colne Valley High School sports centre on Mondays from 5-6pm, with the sessions starting again on Monday 9 January.

Junior Netball Club Chair Alison Morby said, “The junior teams have played really well so far this season and we are proud of their achievements so far. They have trained hard and are a committed set of talented players, many of whom have played for the club for a number of years. Our junior teams are going from strength to strength and we are delighted that our Hi 5s are ready to play their first matches for the Giants in January.”
