Torch Relay in Yorkshire

The Olympic Flame arrives in the UK on 18 May 2012, representing peace, unity and friendship. The Flame will be carried by 8,000 inspirational Torchbearers during the Olympic Torch Relay across the whole of the UK over 70 days bringing the excitement of the Games to everyone.
The Olympic Torch Relay will help shine a light on the whole of the region, from cities and villages, to the coast and the hills. In Yorkshire & Humber, the torch will be making several overnight stops:
Hull - Monday 18th June
York - Tuesday 19th June
Leeds - Sunday 24th June
Sheffield - Monday 25th June
Cleethorpes - Tuesday 26th June
Evening celebrations in towns and cities will show off the best of the local area, bringing people together to mark the Olympic Flame's arrival. The full Torch Relay route will be passing through many of Yorkshire's towns and villages. Full details will be announced in November, so check back to see whether the Olympic Torch is coming to your home town.
