U11 ‘Quicksticks’ Hockey Competition

Wednesday 23rd November saw the annual ‘Quicksticks’ competition swing into action, with fierce competition between the Primary School teams.
Children in Years 5 and 6 from Ryecroft, Bankfoot, St Stephens, St Matthews CE, and All Saints showed their skill competing in a number of five minute matches.
With the competition running across three pitches the teams cheered each other on in a fantastic show of sportsmanship. Despite the biting cold, the participants ran the field, challenging their competitors.
It was a close tournament with schools showing similar levels of skill.
In the end it came down to the final match to decide the winner.
The title of U11 Quicksticks Team Champions 2011-2012 went to St Stephens CE Primary School.
Congratulations to all young people who took part in the event and thank you to all staff who attended.
