WYSport Launches New Club & Coach Education Programme

West Yorkshire Sport has announced its new programme of coach and club education courses for the coming year which is bigger than ever!
Coach Education Workshops
Our programmes includes the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Equity in your Coaching courses throughout the year, as well as regular First Aid courses that are run with an emphasis on sporting activities. These regular courses enable all coaches to complete and keep up to date with their minimum standards.
West Yorkshire sport has also joined forces with the sports science department at Leeds Trinity University College to run a series of sports performance workshops for coaches. These cover; techniques for Motivating Teams, giving coaches an understanding of Nutrition for Sports Performance, supporting performers in Coping with Anxiety in pressure situations, and simple Fitness Assessments which coaches can apply in the field with little equipment.
Club Management Courses – our programme also includes workshops to help support the development of sports clubs:
- Club for All – ensuring your club is open to all sections of the community.
- Valuing your Volunteers – how to recruit, support, retain and maximise the efforts of volunteers at the club.
- Funding your Club – looking at the various options to generate income to your club.
- Sport England Small Grants programme – looking specifically at how to maximise your chance of success in applying to the grants scheme
- Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)– exploring how your club can gain tax advantages through becoming a CASC
