Last night saw the Yorkshire Jets FIAT Netball Superleague squad for 2012 announced at Leeds Metropolitan University watched by fans, sponsors and the local community.
The launch was the Jets’ opportunity to showcase their new kit and players, as well as talk about their vision for the future and the new sponsors that had come on board. The night was decorated in purple and pink, the new squad colours for the team and showcased how in just 6 months, valuable and exciting partnerships have been formed.
The night was kicked off by Sian Foley (Communications Director and Team Manager) who announced Match Ball Sponsor Armstrong Priestley Ltd and Dress Sponsors Leeds Metropolitan University and KPMG. The announcements then came thick and fast with the Jets proudly announcing Heart Research UK as their official Charity Partner for 2012 and that players, fans and the local community are invited to take part in Team 45, the first Yorkshire Jets/HRUK charity event. This will involve a group of 45 running the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k in aid of Heart Research UK, with all the money raised being invested in projects in Yorkshire.
Then for the moment the fans were all waiting for, the new kit and playing squad for 2012!!! Anna Carter (Head Coach) started the proceedings by announcing Joanne Walker and Natalie Panagarry as Co-Captains for the season and the girls couldn’t hide their delight. Natalie commented ‘We have been with Anna since the start of all of this and we are so pleased to have been asked to captain the girls this season.’ Jo added ‘We’ve a really good squad and we are just so excited to get the season started in January’.
In an impromptu interview by Sian, Anna commented when asked where to expect a Jets finish ‘Top 4! I’ve been there for the highs and the lows with these girls and I can’t wait for January to see them on court and performing to their best.’
