Yoodo Sports - online buddy scheme
Published on: 27th October 2011
Yoodo Sports is an inclusive buddy scheme which gets people active. Funded by Sport England and managed by Leonard Cheshire Disability, the project provides disabled people and people with long term health conditions the chance to link up with volunteer buddies through the Yoodo Sports website and access sport and physical activity opportunities of their choice.
In partnership with West Yorkshire Sport and the Federation of Disability Sports Organisations, Yoodo Sports sets out to improve people’s health and wellbeing, supporting them on the journey from TV to treadmill or from sofa to sports club.
Who is the Project for?
- Members of the project are disabled people or people with long term health conditions who want to get fit and healthy, meet new people and discover the motivation to participate in regular exercise.
- Volunteer buddies can be anyone interested in getting active with others.
