Volunteers are the lifeblood of all sport organisations. Sport needs people like you. Behind every medal winner there are people who have given up their time to help them get there. And behind every sporting event are volunteers who help make them happen. These are the true heroes of sport. There are many different roles that volunteers can play within sport.

If you are or would like to be a volunteer in sport register as a volunteers on our website where you can a range of volunteer opportunities, and we can let you know about opportunities or training you may be interested in.

Do you need more volunteers to support your activities or events? Clubs and organisations can use the volunteering areas of our website to promote their opportunities to the thousands of volunteers already registered with us, and hopefully find you the people you need.

Sports Leaders UK

Inspiring people and communities through leadership qualifications in sport. Sports Leaders UK is changing lives. Originally founded over 30 years ago, Sports Leaders UK was set up to support people across the UK who would like to give back to their local community. It now assists over 140,000 young people a year to give them the skills, advice and confidence to provide sporting opportunities to their neighbourhood.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations

The National Council provides management advice and information for the voluntary sector.


The aim of TimeBank is to encourage people to give time and inspire people to volunteer and is supported by the BBC. TimeBank is supported locally by a network of Time Partner organisations, volunteer bureaux and Council for Voluntary Services that provides support and follow up systems for people who want to volunteer.

The National Association for Voluntary & Community Action 

The National Assocation for Voluntary and Community Action is the national voice of local support and development organisations in England. They are a charity that champions and strengthens voluntary and community action by supporting members in their work with over 160,000 local charities and community groups.
